Pilo's Tequila Garden teams up with GiGi's Playhouse to Host A Trick-or-Treat Party for Down Syndrome Awareness Month! On Saturday, October 30th from 11 AM to 2 PM, Gigi's Playhouse & Pilo's Tequila Garden are hosting a Trick-or-Treat Party, so make sure to save the date!
Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween costumes while there will be candy, music, fun, and so much to enjoy! Entry fee for parents is $21 and kids are free! All proceeds will benefit GiGi's Playhouse.
At GiGi’s Playhouse Miami, their mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome and send a global message of acceptance for all. They change lives through the consistent delivery of free educational, therapeutic-based, and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community, through a replicable Playhouse model.
Some of the many free-life-changing programs our GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Centers offer are one-on-one literacy and math tutoring, speech therapy, fitness classes, and career training.
The Pilo’s brand is one of the largest employers for individuals with “special abilities” in the hospitality sector. It works closely with local and national organizations to source the best talent and heart of the Pilo’s family. People with “special abilities” make up the largest minority in the US and it is committed to shattering the disability employment gap.
Pilo’s is committed to having at least 20 percent of the staff hired at the restaurant to be individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities — which Pilo’s calls “special abilities.” Working alongside Gigi’s Playhouse, Best Buddies, and Our Pride Academy to employ these individuals in hopes of helping other Miami residents just like them “achieve their dreams, increase their independence, and provide companionship.”
The ultimate goal is to be the biggest employer of adults with special abilities in the country.
GiGi’s Playhouse is the only international network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers providing free life-changing therapeutic and educational programs for all ages. GiGi’s Playhouse started in 2003 when GiGi was only one year old. Today, there are 55 locations across the U.S. and Mexico and serve families in more than 82 different countries!
With worldwide demand to open over 200 locations, GiGi’s Playhouse is on a mission to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all. During the COVID-19 pandemic our virtual education platform, GiGi’s At Home, allowed us to continue our commitment to offering free programming to our families both LIVE and On Demand.
